A leading advisor on scientific policy, SIR DAVID KING has called for research to be more focused on solving practical problems affecting the world such as climate change and for fewer resources to be spent on theoretical research projects. The governments former Chief Scientific Advisor will make the case in a lecture to the annual festival of the British Association of Science in Liverpool
